Prospects Grow For 2021-22 As Blazers Welcome New Signing

When he steps on the court for CMU next season, David Froese will officially become the tallest player to ever suit up for the Blazers. Standing a true six-foot-eight-inches tall, the Westwood Collegiate star recently signed his letter of intent to commit to CMU for the 2021-22 NIAC and MCAC basketball seasons.
"David is a big man with lots of potential," said CMU head coach Scott Martin, who with the likes of Froese and a 2020 rookie-class that included Matt Brenton (6'5), Ezra Leano (6'4) and Jesse Fedak (6'4), has made big steps in addressing the Blazer's reputation as a rather undersized NIAC program. "He is a little raw and is still learning the game but David has so much potential! He has been well-coached, he's very dedicated and he moves really well for a player of his size. I'm really happy to have him committed."

The name, "Jack Tyrrell' has been synonymous with the CMU Men's Volleyball program for half a decade. Coming to CMU from a very competitive Linden Christian high school program, Tyrrell has continued that success in the MCAC, being part of three championship-winning teams during his four seasons with the Blazers. Jack has shown strong character, commitment to personal-development and mentorship of younger players. He has played a critical role in shaping the positive-culture that is apparent in the Men's Volleyball program.

The CMU Women's Soccer program added more fuel to the fire this week, announcing the commitment of Collège Lorette Collegiate's Tiana Romanishen for the 2021 MCAC season. A pacy midfielder with a brain for the game, Romanishen has been a leader on her youth team with the Lorette Soccer Club and in her community by coaching the u-10 Lorette girls indoor team.

The CMU Men's Soccer program has looked north to secure the team's goalkeeping needs for the 2021 MCAC season, signing Hapnot Collegiate's Brayden Abbott.
Pursuing soccer in the north takes a serious commitment, so to add to the impact that his regional coaches have had on his development, the Flin Flonner spent the summer of 2020 in Winnipeg under the focussed attention of the E&E Sports Management team.

Carter Hofer has left a significant impact on the CMU Men's Volleyball program over four years. Beyond helping the Blazers to two MCAC Championships and receiving many accolades along the way, the graduate of Linden Christian School and product of Winman Volleyball Club, has been an exemplary leader on and off the court.
Hofer has been recognized by CMU Athletics with Rookie of the Year honours (2017-18) and was twice named the Men's Volleyball Player of the Year (2018-19, 19-20). The 6'3 left side was selected to the All-Conference team (2019-20) and was named Championship MVP (2019-20) by the MCAC and finally, the CCAA recognized Hofer as a 2019-20 Academic All-Canadian and 2019-20 National Scholar Athlete.
