The CMU Blazers and the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference have jumped another hurdle. The Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association, the national body that governs sports competitions and national championships between Canadian colleges and universities, formally and unanimously accepted the Winnipeg-based university as part of the MCAC's application for conference membership on Tuesday at the CCAA's Annual General Meeting in Calgary.

As another exciting international summer soccer competition kicks into play this weekend, CMU Men's Soccer would like to announce the commitment of Stonewall Collegiate attacking player Chris Wiebe for the 2019-20 MCAC season. The multi-sport athlete has competed for the Rams in soccer, cross-country, basketball and badminton but is looking forward to becoming more focused in soccer as he enters his first year of university.

Men's Basketball Boosts Offense By Adding Cole To The Fire

Men's Basketball is very excited to receive the commitment of Winnipeg's River East Collegiate wing Isaiah Cole for the 2019-20 Northern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference season. At 6'5, Cole has the size and strength to play in the post and defend at the rim, but has proven through his high school career with the Kodiaks, that he has the athleticism to create his own shot, catch and fire or put the ball on the floor and penetrate to score baskets. In his grade 12 season, Cole led the Kodiaks in scoring, averaging a mind-blowing 45 points per game in the always tough Manitoba High School's KPAC division.

Seth Puddicombe, a 6'0 guard from Portage Collegiate in Portage la Prairie, has signed his letter of intent to join the CMU Men's Basketball program for the 2019-20 Northern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference season. Puddicombe has been a key figure in the emergence of the Portage Trojans as a legitimate Manitoba High School 'AAAA' Tier 2 Boys championship contender during his time with the varsity program, leading his school to a third-place finish in 2019 - their best finish in varsity boys basketball to date.
