Women's Volleyball Strengthens Roster With Addition Of Flin Flon Power

Women's Volleyball entered the recruitment phase of their off-season inking their first addition for the 2019-20 MCAC season with the signing of Hapnot Collegaite's Alyssa Patterson. A 5'9 left-side, Patterson boasts being a three-year starter with the Kopper Kweens varsity girls program after moving up to play with older teammates and against older opponents in her Grade 10 year. That season she would be recognized by her high school as the Junior Varsity Athlete of the Year.

Jayme Menzies Introduced As Head Coach Of Women's Volleyball Program

CMU Athletics is very happy to announce the appointment of Jayme Menzies as the new head coach of the CMU women's volleyball team playing in the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference. The former University of Winnipeg Wesmen has become an influential figure in the Manitoba volleyball community since finishing her five-year playing career and will provide the women's volleyball program with exemplary leadership in her new role.

Anders Receives Team Canada Selection For Upcoming FIBA 3x3 Qualifier

Basketball Canada announced earlier this week that CMU men's basketball alumni Wyatt Anders was one of four Canadians selected to represent their country this weekend in Puerto Rico at the FIBA 3x3 qualifier event, with the winner of the eight team tournament advancing to the 2019 FIBA 3x3 World Cup in Amsterdam later this summer. Also included in the Basketball Canada roster announcement was Anders' Team Acceleration Performance teammate Jelane Pryce along with Michael Linklater and Bikramjit Gill.

Women's Soccer Scores Kildonan East's Tenacious Midfielder Kabonesa

As Manitoba High School Soccer kicks off in Winnipeg this week, CMU is very happy to announce the commitment of former Portage Trails premier youth and current Kildonan East Reivers midfielder, Miriam Kabonesa for the 2019 Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference Season.

Described by her coaches as a relentless-running holding midfielder who closes down opponents quickly, Kabonesa was a big part of the PTSC club program in her age category to the under-15 level, winning the Cambrian Challenge Cup in the 2015 indoor season until the west-Winnipeg club was reintroduced as the St. Charles Force.

Men’s Volleyball Signs Grant Park High School Setter With Plenty Of Potential

Fresh off a fourth-place finish at the 2019 Manitoba Volleyball Provincials with 204 Volleyball Club, Cameron Chan has made his decision to wear the colours of the CMU Blazers as he takes his talents from club and high school volleyball to the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference next season.

The 6'1 setter has been the cornerstone of the Grant Park Pirates since breaking in at the 14u club level, leading his high school to a 2018 'AAAA' Provincial Championship berth in his grade 12 season and raising a conference banner after earning a divisional all-star selection last November.
