Former Club National Champion Takes Next Step At CMU

The CMU Women's Volleyball program is very pleased to announce the commitment of Brooklyn De Jong for the 2021-22 MCAC season. A 2019 graduate of Winnipeg's River East Collegiate, de Jong brings a resume that includes one season of MCAC experience after the 5'10 middle spent 2019-20 with the Providence Pilots.
Success has followed De Jong throughout her high school and club career, beginning in Grade 9 when the Kodiaks lifted a provincial championship. River East would qualify for the Manitoba provincial championships over her next two seasons and in De Jong's final season, she was fortunate enough to be selected as a Graduating All-star and the recipient of the Coaches' Choice Award.

It's been a big week for Paige Wright. On top of this announcement, that the Warren Collegiate-product has committed to play her collegiate volleyball at CMU with the Blazers, the 5'7 setter was selected as the recipient of the prestigous Dr. Dale Iwanoczko Award. The scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating high school volleyball player who demonstrates excellence on the court and in the classroom as well as leadership through well-rounded participation in school and community activities.

Cerulean Wolfe is the most recent CMU women's volleyball recruit to commit herself to the Blazers for 2021-22. Excelling through her high school career at Northlands Parkway Collegiate in Winkler, Manitoba, the versatile 5'7 left-side, who has seen much of her competitive experience playing as a middle, is eager to step back on the court and make up for both lost time and lost opportunity.

Things continue to look up for the CMU women's volleyball program as the defending MCAC champions have turned their focus towards the 2021-22 campain. This week they announced another addition to the squad that will look to represent Manitoba at the 2022 CCAA National Championships, in Oak Park High School's, Sahra McKenzie.

The CMU Women's Volleyball program is happy to announce the commitment of Linden Christian's Rachel Bartel for the 2021-22 MCAC season. Despite seeing her senior season with the Wings cancelled due to the pandemic, the versatile 5'8 athlete has enjoyed plenty of success at the 'AAA' level including two seasons in the varsity program.
