Massey's High School All-Star Boosts Women's Basketball Program

The CMU Women's Basketball Team is very happy to announce the commitment of Winnipeg's Vincent Massey Collegiate guard Rhianna Nelson for the 2015-16 season. Amongst Nelson accomplishments were her inclusion in the Winnipeg Sun's annual Manitoba High School Girls Basketball Top Ten list released last March. The 5'8 wing held down the number 10 position overall and was ranked fifth of all Grade 12 players to be recognized in the province.

A Royal Signing Brings Lord Selkirk Forward To Women's Basketball Program

The CMU Women's Basketball team is very happy to announce the commitment of Lord Selkirk's Ashtyn Hodges for the 2015-16 season. The 5'9 forward helped the Royals to back to back Piper Classic Tournament wins in her grade 11 and grade 12 seasons.

In their 2015 Piper Classic victory, Hodges was individually recognized with the Dennis Schrofel Award as the player who best exemplifies basketball, academic excellence and community involvement.

Former Manitoba Bisons Duo Take Over Coaching Reins with Women's Soccer

As the sport Women's Soccer continues to blossom in the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference, CMU Athletics is pleased to announce the hiring of Cara Isaak and Lianna Bestvater who will begin co-coaching the Blazers this season.

The duo were teammates on the Manitoba Bisons from 2006 to 2008 and are both heavily involved in the Manitoba soccer community.

The Men's Soccer Team is excited to announce the commitment of former Mennonite Collegiate Institute team captain Sam Schellenberg for the 2015-16 season.

"In the past, we have had a lot of success in our team with rural players from both Manitoba and Saskatchewan who have thrived from having the opportunity to play and train regularly with other competitive players," said head coach Russell Willms, "I think Sam is going to do very well here and his passion to play and improve is very evident."
