Done Deal! Women's Soccer Nets Five On Defending Champs

Super rookie Esther Schwarzkopf continued to grow her goal tally on Tuesday night and it couldn't have come at a bigger time as Women's Soccer grounded the Providence Pilots to the tune of 5-1 at the Winnipeg Soccer Complex.
Schwarzkopf struck early as her team carried most of the possession and chances through the first 45 minutes, building a 2-0 lead before the break with the first-year and former Manitoba provincial rural high school Most Valuable Player scoring both Blazer goals.

The MCAC Women's Soccer of 2009 was the last time that the CMU Women's Soccer Team was able to defeat the Providence Pilots. It was also the last time that the Blazers captured the MCAC Women's Soccer Championship on a season that saw them face the Pilots four times during the regular season without taking a single point from their head to head match ups. Now two full weeks into the 2015 campaign and the Blazers - Pilots match up that begins Week 3 is certainly a contest worthy of attention.

After taking all six available points from their opening weekend of MCAC competition, Men's Soccer is preparing themselves for a true test of their place on top the MCAC standings this weekend when they face both sides of the 2014 MCAC Men's Soccer Championship Final, Les Rouges of the University of St. Boniface and the Red River Rebels.

Three second half goals by the Brandon Bobcats had the Blazers on the losing end of a 4-0 scoreline in their 2015 MCAC Home Opener today at the Winnipeg Soccer Complex.
The chances and possession was quite even through the first 45 minutes as the young but talented Blazers showed themselves to be a much improved attacking team. Folio Player of the Game selection, Esther Schwarzkopf shone in her first taste of MCAC action, helping her team get behind the Bobcats back line but unable to solve goalkeeper Natasha Rupa.

The CMU Women's Basketball team is very happy to announce the commitment of Kildonan East's Martina Akot for the 2015-16 season. The 5'6 guard capped her grade 12 year by leading the Reivers to their first MHSAA 'AAAA' Girls Basketball Provincial Championships for the first time in over a decade.
"Martina is an excellent athlete with terrific defensive abilities," said CMU head coach Joe Di Curzio, "her offensive skills are equally impressive, especially her ability to take the ball to the basket."
