The Blazer came up just shy of their ultimate goal, falling to their conference rivals, Red River, by a mere two points and were forced to watch the Rebels celebrate their fourth consecutive conference title on the Blazers home court.

Super rookie Esther Schwarzkopf continued to grow her goal tally on Tuesday night and it couldn't have come at a bigger time as Women's Soccer grounded the Providence Pilots to the tune of 5-1 at the Winnipeg Soccer Complex.
Schwarzkopf struck early as her team carried most of the possession and chances through the first 45 minutes, building a 2-0 lead before the break with the first-year and former Manitoba provincial rural high school Most Valuable Player scoring both Blazer goals.

It was also the last time that the Blazers captured the MCAC Women's Soccer Championship on a season that saw them face the Pilots four times during the regular season without taking a single point from their head to head match ups. Now two full weeks into the 2015 campaign and the Blazers - Pilots match up that begins Week 3 is certainly a contest worthy of attention.

Three second half goals by the Brandon Bobcats had the Blazers on the losing end of a 4-0 scoreline in their 2015 MCAC Home Opener today at the Winnipeg Soccer Complex.
The chances and possession was quite even through the first 45 minutes as the young but talented Blazers showed themselves to be a much improved attacking team. Folio Player of the Game selection, Esther Schwarzkopf shone in her first taste of MCAC action, helping her team get behind the Bobcats back line but unable to solve goalkeeper Natasha Rupa.
