Done Deal! Women's Soccer Nets Five On Defending Champs

Super rookie Esther Schwarzkopf continued to grow her goal tally on Tuesday night and it couldn't have come at a bigger time as Women's Soccer grounded the Providence Pilots to the tune of 5-1 at the Winnipeg Soccer Complex.

Schwarzkopf struck early as her team carried most of the possession and chances through the first 45 minutes, building a 2-0 lead before the break with the first-year and former Manitoba provincial rural high school Most Valuable Player scoring both Blazer goals.

Women's Soccer Looking Into Memories Of 2009

The MCAC Women's Soccer of 2009 was the last time that the CMU Women's Soccer Team was able to defeat the Providence Pilots. It was also the last time that the Blazers captured the MCAC Women's Soccer Championship on a season that saw them face the Pilots four times during the regular season without taking a single point from their head to head match ups. Brandon Bobcats Hand Blazers A Home Opening Defeat

Three second half goals by the Brandon Bobcats had the Blazers on the losing end of a 4-0 scoreline in their 2015 MCAC Home Opener today at the Winnipeg Soccer Complex.

The chances and possession was quite even through the first 45 minutes as the young but talented Blazers showed themselves to be a much improved attacking team. Folio Player of the Game selection, Esther Schwarzkopf shone in her first taste of MCAC action, helping her team get behind the Bobcats back line but unable to solve goalkeeper Natasha Rupa.
