Women's Volleyball Begins New Year By Signing First Recruit Of 2017-18

Fresh off a road trip into Alberta to start the New Year, Women's Volleyball is thrilled to introduce their first recruit of the 2017-18 season; two-time MHSAA 'AAA' Provinicial Allstar Renee Desroches.

The Dauphin Regional setter led the Clippers to zone banners in 2015 and 2016, winning the AAA Varsity Girls Provincial Championship in 2015 and finishing second in 2016. Desroches consistently strong performances earned her selection to the 2016 Manitoba Volleyball A-AAA Graduating Allstar Game played at St. Paul's High School in December.

All Aboard For Alberta As Men's Volleyball Bursts Into The New Year

After winning their second consecutive Western Canadian Open Championship and posting a conference high 8-2 record through the first half of the 2016-17 MCAC season, Men's Volleyball are about to tackle the Alberta Collegiate Athletics Conference for three interconference matches before they reintroduce themselves to an MCAC court for the final half of their regular season campaign.

When former CMU Men's Basketball star Wyatt Anders sets a goal, he's nearly impossible to stop. After two seasons in the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference, four seasons in U-Sports (CIS) with the Manitoba Bisons* and a few summers challenging the top 3 on 3 teams in the world in FIBA 3x3, Anders is preparing to step onto his first professional basketball court this winter in Canada's NBL (National Basketball League), wearing the colours of the expansion Cape Breton Highlanders.

Cassie Wiebe - November's Recovery Spot Athlete Of The Month

Congratulations to Cassie Wiebe of Women's Basketball on being selected the Recovery Spot Female Athlete of the Month for November.

"Tenacious" is probably the best way to describe Wiebe's play on the basketball court. Rarely her team's scoring leader this season, the fourth-year team captain has added big buckets when they're needed, has been the busiest free-throw shooter in the conference and has put every ounce of energy into every minute of play to lead CMU to a perfect record in both the Northern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference through the first half of the 2016-17 season.

Joel Kliewer - November's Recovery Spot Athlete Of The Month

Congratulations to Joel Kliewer of Men's Volleyball on being selected the Recovery Spot Male Athlete of the Month for November. Joel led the Blazers to a record of five wins with only one defeat in six conference matches and put a cap on the month last weekend with a thrilling gold medal win in Brandon at the 2016 Western Canadian College Open Volleyball Championships, a 2-1 win over the Red River Rebels.
