Goals and Baskets: Niverville Dual-Sport Athlete Makes Plans To Do Both
Participating in two sports in the MCAC is a difficult challenge, but Niverville Collegiate's Parker Davis is preparing to take it on, after signing a letter of intent to play varsity soccer and basketball at CMU next season.
"He's a really strong athlete," said Men's Soccer Head Coach Russell Willms, "he combines a high work-rate, speed, coordination and strong attacking and defensive awareness. He's a good player now but I think we'll see really fast development into a great player for our program."

As Women's Basketball approaches this weekend's Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference Championship Final, the program is pleased to announce the commitment of 5'9 Sturgeon Heights Collegiate guard, Kayla Dao for the 2018-19 MCAC and Northern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference seasons.
A member of the Huskies Varsity Girls team since Grade 10 when she was selected as Sturgeon Heights' Defensive Player of the Year, Dao has been instrumental in the Huskies climb up the Manitoba High School AAAA Girls Tier 1 standings. In her Grade 11 season, Dao and the Huskies qualified for the 4A Provincial Girls Basketball Championships as a Wild Card entry but with a large contigent of returning players, their expectations for 2018 are even higher as the team currently sits third in the AAAA Girls Power Rankings released today by the MHSAA.

Congratulations to Rachel Oswald of Women's Volleyball on being selected the CMU Blazers Female Athlete of the Month for January. The fifth-year outside hitter helped her team to a January conference record of 3-1 and started the month with a respectable seventh-place finish in the twelve team Adidas Cup Challenge at Durham College.

Former Fort Richmond Collegiate teammates, Abdi Amin and Kniel Sullera led the CMU offense last weekend as the Blazers split their final regular season away games of the 2017-18 NIAC Basketball schedule with the Turtle Mountain Mighty Mikinocks in Belcourt, North Dakota. On Saturday night, Amin led the Blazers, scoring 18 as CMU took home a 93-82 win. The Mikinocks rebounded on Sunday, 104-93, despite Sullera's season high 28 point performance. The former Team Manitoba guard is averaging 15.0 points per game in his rookie season with the Blazers, landing him second on his team in scoring behind fellow rookie guard, Nick Kasmik with 16.0
