Congratulations to Camille Plett of Women's Soccer on being selected the CMU Lionheart Sports Female Athlete of the Month for the month of September. The fifth-year striker has made the most of her opportunities to score goals for the Blazers, counting 11 of her teams 12 markers during the month. In Week 2, Plett scored back to back hat-tricks in a 3-3 tie with the ACC Cougars and in a 4-1 defeat of the Providence Pilots.

Late Goal Salvages Important Point For Women's Soccer Versus Cougars

Striker Camille Plett got the finishing touch on an 88th minute equalizing goal on Sunday afternoon as Women's Soccer came back to tie the first-place ACC Cougars 1-1 at the Ralph Cantafio Soccer Complex.

With illness making it's way through the Women's Soccer roster during the past week, Sunday's point became a big one and may prove vital as the six MCAC teams jockey for four playoff positions over the final three weeks of the 2018 regular season. Plett came close to putting the home team ahead in the 19th minute when Marijka Yaschyshyn's cross came inches away from the fifth-year's sliding effort to score.

Alberta Champions Clash With Manitoba Champions In Basketball Preseason

The 2018 MCAC Women's Basketball Champions open their preseason on Thursday night in the Loewen Athletic Centre against a formidable opponent in the 2018 ACAC Women's Basketball Champions; Calgary's St. Mary's University Lightning.

St. Mary's have been the dominant force in Women's Basketball in the Alberta Collegiate Athletic Conference for the past three seasons, qualifying for the ACAC Championship Final in 2016 and 2017 and in their most recent season, taking the ultimate step forward by winning the 2018 ACAC banner. The Lightning have also qualified for the ACAC playoffs for four consecutive seasons.
