Royal Arrival Spells First Step in 2019-20 Men's Volleyball Arrivals

CMU Men's Volleyball is pleased to announce the commitment of Lord Selkirk's Cam Gayleard as the first official signing of the 2019-20 MCAC season. Blazer's head coach Don Dulder praised the 6'1 left-side for his leadership and well-developed offensive and defensive game, when asked about his new recruit. "Cam has excellent leadership qualities as demonstrated by his being captain of his Selkirk 'AAAA' high school team," said Dulder, who will be entering his sixth season with the Men's Volleyball program. "He is an extremely good backrow player, a good passer and attacker - a quality person who will fit in well at CMU."

Renee Desroches: January's Lionheart Sports Female Athlete Of The Month

Congratulations to Renée Desroches of Women's Volleyball on being selected the CMU Lionheart Sports Female Athlete of the Month for January. Beginning with a third-place finish at the OCAA mid-season 2019 Adidas Cup tournament in Oshawa, Desroches and the Blazers have retained their first-place position in the MCAC through the month of January, holding an advantage of two match-victories over second-place USB, (who have a match in hand on the Blazers) in the race for the conference's top-seed in February's Final Fours.

Riley Ens: January's Lionheart Sports Male Athlete Of The Month

Congratulations to Riley Ens of Men's Basketball on being selected the CMU Lionheart Sports Male Athlete of the Month for January. Riley helped CMU to a record of 4-4 during the month, that included two crucial NIAC wins over the Trinity Lions and Providence Pilots, helping establish the Blazers among the conference's top four in the NIAC standings.

Blazers Take First Steps in Long Journey

After being bruised, beaten and silenced in last year’s Copa de la Paz semifinals, the CMU Men’s futsal team found itself rebuilt and ready to avenge last year’s heartbreak.

They were able to handle the first obstacles as they overcame two quality teams away from the Loewen centre this weekend, defeating both the University of Saint Boniface (USB) Rouges and Providence Pilots.
