Blazers Bounced By Pilots To Spoil Home Opener

Matheus Moreno scored his first MCAC soccer goal as a member of the CMU Blazers in the 58th minute but it was only enough to cut the Pilots' lead in half as Providence hung on for a 2-1 away victory on Saturday afternoon in front of approximately 200 spectators at the Ralph Cantafio Soccer Complex. The visitors got goals from Jay Thielmann late in the first half and Austin Blackwell early in the second, to grab a commanding two goal cushion, shocking the defending champions.

Men's Soccer Links With Miles Mac Striker To Make Added-Time Signing

Men's Soccer is very happy to announce the commitment of Winnipeg Phoenix product Stan Pankiewicz, a 2019 graduate of Miles Mac Collegiate, as a late signing for the fast approaching 2019 MCAC season that kicks off for the Blazers on September 7th.

The 6'1 attacker grew up through north-east Winnipeg's Phoenix Soccer Club, completing his time at the end of the 2017 season after advanced to the MSA Cup final as well as 2017 WYSA Cambrian Cup at the under-18 PR1 level.

A critical position for CMU Men's Soccer's push to successfully defend their 2018 conference championship has gained strength with the recent signing of Rosthern Junior College goalkeeper Reed Fitzgerald. The 6'0 talent captained his high school team to consecutive provincial silver medals and was a part of Valley United at the under-15 and under-17 levels in Saskatchewan. In his small hometown of Rosthern, Fitzgerald backstopped his community club to a silver medal and three bronze medal finishes from u13 to u18.
