Congratulations to Ezri Trump of Women's Soccer on being selected the CMU Lionheart Sports Female Athlete of the Month for September. In her first month of MCAC competition the rookie has planted herself as a regular in the heart of the Blazers' midfield from opening weekend through five conference matches and is yet to be substituted off the field.

Congratulations to Victor Hugo of Men's Soccer on being selected the CMU Lionheart Sports Male Athlete of the Month for September. Though the Brazilian hasn't been the man scoring the goals for the Blazers, the third year midfielder has been the creative energy behind many of his team's scoring chances, playing a key part in five of CMU's seventeen goals scored this month.

One thing is clear at the conclusion of Week 3 of league play in MCAC Women's Soccer: CMU has sorted out the defensive part of their game and opponents will have to be at their best to earn 3 points against the Blazers. After holding an undefeated USB Rouges to one goal on Saturday afternoon, that coming from a cornerkick, CMU returned home on Sunday and held the Brandon Bobcats off the scoreboard, limiting their Westman rivals to a mere three shots on target at the Ralph Cantafio Soccer Complex.

Goals from Joel Kisabo (2), Ryan Jensen, Caleb Jutzi and Solace Janzen Kornelsen powered Men's Soccer to an impressive 5-1 victory on a soggy Saturday afternoon against the USB Rouges at St. Vital Memorial Park.
It took only six minutes for highly-touted rookie Joel Kisabo to open the scoring as he blasted the Blazers into a 1-0 lead when he jumped on a loose ball and connected to the bottom left corner of the USB goal from just inside the penalty area. Nine minutes later, Ryan Jensen made it 2-0 for the visitors when he converted from the penalty spot, giving CMU a commanding lead over the current leaders in the MCAC Men's Soccer standings.

It wasn't a perfect weekend for the defending MCAC Champions, but CMU represented their province well with two strong showings in Southern Alberta on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
After conceeding three goals in the opening 45 minutes of their first match of 2019, the Blazers have held their opponents to just two goals over their last 225 minutes, allowing only a single goal in each of their weekend CCAA friendlies against the ACAC's Medicine Hat Rattlers and Lethbridge Kodiaks.
