Looking Ahead: Men's Volleyball Announces First Recruit of 2021-22

Just days after the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference announced the cancellation of the 2020-21 regular seasons, attention is turning to 2021-22, hilighted by the unveiling of CMU's first recruit, Linden Christian's Caleb Kirton. Kirton has honed his skills most recently with local Winnipeg club program, Tsunami and spent previous seasons at 204 and Winman Volleyball Club.

MCAC Votes For January Start Over Previously Scheduled Season

The Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference met on Friday, voting in a newly planned 2020-21 volleyball schedule that would begin play on January 15th rather than the previously scheduled volleyball season due to start play in November.

Many factors led to this inevitable decision, none more critical than the current stage of the approved return-to-competition plans in the sport.

Matthew Page: February's Lionheart Sports Male Athlete of the Month

Congratulations to Matthew Pagé of Men's Volleyball on being selected the CMU Lionheart Sports Male Athlete of the Month for February. Pagé was in the spotlight for the Blazers MCAC Championship win last weekend, coming up big on two critical fifth set rallies to win points for his team including an amazing stuff block for the match-winner.

Carter Hofer: November's Lionheart Sports Male Athlete of the Month

Congratulations to Carter Hofer of Men's Volleyball on being selected CMU's Lionheart Sports Male Athlete of the Month for November. Hofer guided his team to an MCAC best record of 7-1 through the month and was a big part of the Blazers' winning streak that spanned 20-consecutive sets from October 30 to November 25th.
