Congratulations to Renée Desroches of Women's Volleyball on being selected the CMU Lionheart Sports Female Athlete of the Month for January. Beginning with a third-place finish at the OCAA mid-season 2019 Adidas Cup tournament in Oshawa, Desroches and the Blazers have retained their first-place position in the MCAC through the month of January, holding an advantage of two match-victories over second-place USB, (who have a match in hand on the Blazers) in the race for the conference's top-seed in February's Final Fours.

Riley Ens: January's Lionheart Sports Male Athlete Of The Month

Congratulations to Riley Ens of Men's Basketball on being selected the CMU Lionheart Sports Male Athlete of the Month for January. Riley helped CMU to a record of 4-4 during the month, that included two crucial NIAC wins over the Trinity Lions and Providence Pilots, helping establish the Blazers among the conference's top four in the NIAC standings.

Blazers Take First Steps in Long Journey

After being bruised, beaten and silenced in last year’s Copa de la Paz semifinals, the CMU Men’s futsal team found itself rebuilt and ready to avenge last year’s heartbreak.

They were able to handle the first obstacles as they overcame two quality teams away from the Loewen centre this weekend, defeating both the University of Saint Boniface (USB) Rouges and Providence Pilots.

Bronze Medal Performance For Women's Volleyball In 2019 Adidas Cup

Bronze felt almost as good as Gold for Women's Volleyball on Sunday afternoon as the Blazers scored their highest-placing in four previous attempts at the Adidas Cup in Oshawa, Ontario, equaling and then taking their 2012 semifinal appearance once step further by defeating the Cambrian Golden Shield 3-1 in the third-place game.

Advancing into the semifinals out of Pool B was a task in itself for the Blazers who found themselves grouped with the Seneca Sting and nationally-ranked Fanshawe Falcons. Down 0-2 to Seneca, CMU bounced back winning in five sets before falling 1-3 to the CCAA's #5 ranked Fanshawe who would go on to win their second consecutive Adidas Cup on Sunday afternoon, defeating the host Durham Lords in the Championship Final.
