CMU Women's Soccer is set to kickoff a new era for the Blazers under new head coach Peter Marinelli as the team looks to keep building in the program's 25th season. The Blazers last captured an MCAC Championship in 2018, when the program took home the 2018 Women's Futsal title in the spring, and then the 2018 Women's Soccer title the following fall.

Blazers Men's Soccer and Futsal Head Coach Anderson Pereira has made the tough decision to step back from the team and say his farewells after seven years at the helm of the program.

An instant success with the team, Pereira captured the program's first and only soccer title of the MCAC era in his first season in 2018, a special moment as both men's and women's Blazers squads came out on top that year. A noted futsal aficionado, Pereira's teams have been perennial contenders in the Copa de la Paz Futsal Championships, taking home the title most recently in 2020, and featuring in the finals several times during his tenure.

Congratulations to Mekhi Lisan of Blazers Men's Basketball on being selected the CMU Zueike Male Athlete of the Month for February. The rookie guard has been a consistent performer for the Blazers all season, and saved some of his best work for last as the MCAC Championships MVP.

A player with experience well beyond his years, Lisan was finally able to play in front of friends and family here in Winnipeg after high school stints in America, and a season out of high school that ended before it began. Lisan joined a formidable Blazers backcourt in the off-season that already included dynamic playmakers and shooting threats Braeden Fernandez, Marco Guaring, and Derian Castaneda, and earned his playing time through consistent performances throughout the season.

Congratulations to Briana Ehrmantraut of Blazers Women's Basketball on being selected the CMU Zueike Female Athlete of the Month for January. The 2023-24 MCAC and NIAC Player of the Year selection continues to be the most consistent offensive performer for the Blazers as the team looks to capture their next title.

An undeniable talent since her rookie season in 2021-22, the local St James Collegiate product is now entering the final phase of her college career, as the Blazers make a final push for playoff positioning heading into NIAC and then MCAC Championships. The reigning player of the year hasn't slowed down her pace this year, if anything expanding her offensive repertoire to be a bigger threat from both the outside and in the paint.
