2026/27 Women's Basketball Season Preview
Blazers women's basketball is the most successful CMU Athletics program having captured nine MCAC titles, and two NIAC titles, with much of that success coming over the last eight seasons. The program is looking to take back the top spot in Manitoba after alternating championship wins with Providence since the 2022/23 season.

Honouring a life that continues to inspire
The Evelyn Kampen Memorial Scholarship Fund for Women's Volleyball was established at CMU in 2026 to honour the remarkable life and athletic legacy of Evelyn Kampen, an alumna (CMU '12) and former Blazer student-athlete and coach who passed away in 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Even more than a recognition of her accomplishments on the court, the scholarship celebrates the values Kampen embodied: perseverance, leadership, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to helping others succeed.

Coming off an incredible 2025 outdoor campaign, Blazers Men's Soccer has managed to hold onto a number of its biggest roster pieces from that championship squad, but has also seen some key pieces end their time with the program, leading head coach Gode Katembo to re-tool as CMU gets set to defend the MCAC title for the first time since 2019.

With head coach Jason Moist returning to take over managing duties following the outdoor season last year, CMU's women's soccer program has experienced a big boost to its roster for the 2026/27, as Moist has had a full off-season window to sign and start building this coming season's edition of the squad. Starting the recruiting window with a massive seven-player signing ceremony, coach Moist has continued to add to the incoming class with hopes of a full roster, and a more competitive base of student-athletes than the program has ever seen.

2026/27 Men's Volleyball Season Preview
The Blazers Men's Volleyball program opened the recruiting window way back in November, and have since worked to fill the limited vacancies in the lineup, choosing instead to lean heavily on returning student-athletes to step up and produce when the season starts in October. Perhaps the silver lining of an injury bug hitting the team last year is the valuable in-game experience it will give some of this year's sophomores in pushing for those spots. A season-ending injury to Matthew Janzen, as well as time off for Curran Chan and Austin Spicer all led to some breakout performances from Deklen Vergara and Owen Giesbrecht, and with ongoing off-season training underway, the competition looks to be hot once again to crack the starting lineup in 2026/27.
