Papa Murphy's Take 'n' Bake Male Athlete Of The Month - September
Congratulations to Michael Breton of the Men's Soccer Team for being selected as the Papa Murphy's Take 'n' Bake CMU Male Athlete of the Month for September.
A fourth-year midfielder, Breton has been a steady contributer in the starting eleven this month, leading his team to their first trophy of the season last weekend in Thunder Bay when they captured the ThunderHawk Cup with a 1-0 win over Lakehead University. Breton was also instrumental in a critical 3-0 win over Providence in Otterburne and in a scoreless tie at St-Boniface against a tough USB side late in September.
Michael featured as a right back for much of his first three season with the team, but is adjusting well to a more central role this season.
"Michael has performed well as he transitioned to a new position this month and has given us an anchor in midfield that has really helped the team defensively and offensively," said head coach Russell Willms. "He has been a strong passer, brave ball-winner and a good decision-maker for us."
