Papa Murphy's Take 'n' Bake Male Athlete of the Month - November

Congratulations to Jason Friesen of the Men's Volleyball Team on being selected the Papa Murphy's Take 'n' Bake Male Athlete of the Month for November. The second-year setter led his team to a record of 6-1 during the month and capped the first half of the season with a second-place finish at Western Canadians last weekend in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

"Jason is a quiet leader with steady composure on the court" said first year head coach Don Dulder, "besides his excellent technical setting ability, he has done a excellent job in his set selection and in running our offense."

The lone blemish to the Blazers conference record this month came on November 14th; a five-set loss to the Red River Rebels. In a thrilling match that CMU came within a few points of winning, Friesen posted 20 assists and made a big impact defensively as well.

At Western Canadians, Friesen and the Blazers carried a perfect round robin record of 4-0 into the playoff round where they went on to defeat the Kelsey Amaruks in the quarterfinal and USB Rouges in the semi to eventually settle for Western Canadian runner up.

"Jason seems to know who to set in every situation and has been an extension of the coach on the floor," added Dulder.
