Men's Hoops Fills Paint With MBCI Post

The CMU Men's Basketball Team is thrilled to announce the signing of MBCI Center Jasdeep Khangura for the 2014-15 MCAC Season. In his Grade 12 year, the 6'7 big-man averaged more than 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Hawks, who finished the regular season as the #2 ranked 'AAAA' team in MHSAA but fell to Glenlawn in the Provincial Semifinals last March.

Jasdeep brings a great low post game to our team," said second-year head coach Billy Isaac, "I expect him to be an anchoring force for us in the paint."

Khangura was a member of the 2012 Winnipeg Gold that won gold at the 2012 Manitoba Games in Swan River.

Khangura was first introduced to the Loewen Athletic Centre court in 2010 when his MBCI JV boys team won the Grade 9 Invitational Boys Basketball Tournament hosted by the Blazers Men's Basketball Team. Later that same year, he was recognized with the MBCI Coaches Award for his outstanding Junior Varsity play.

The Blazers will open their preseason September 27th at home against the Briercrest Clippers of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference as part of CMU's Fall Festival Events Schedule.
