After two years of probationary membership, the MCAC sent its first representatives to the National Championships in the 2021-2022 season, which included Blazers men's volleyball as the first ever team to represent Manitoba in the sport of men's volleyball, and CMU's first ever delegation to a National Championship.

As a governing body of intercollegiate sport in Canada, the CCAA holds its member conferences and affiliated institutions to follow the vision, mission, values, and principles of the association.
