Congratulations to Cleo Reynolds of Blazers Women's Soccer on being selected the CMU Zueike Female Athlete of the Month for October. The rookie striker led the team in scoring as the program continues to build itself into an MCAC contender under head coach Jason Moist.

Perhaps the first thing you might notice about the speedy forward is her work rate in chasing down balls, and pressuring defenders in order to create scoring chances. Playing against offensive powerhouses in Brandon and Providence all season forced the team into a counter-attack tactic, where the speed and physicality of Reynolds was a true asset.

Reynolds started the month incredibly strong, scoring a brace in back-to-back matches against Brandon-based teams, first on October third in a loss to the Bobcats, then added two more the following day in a 6-0 win over Assiniboine, which all but secured the Blazers' MCAC playoffs berth, and earned the rookie MCAC Athlete of the Week honours. In October, Reynolds accounted for four of the team's nine tallies, and finished the season with six goals, good for a top-ten ranking on the conference scoring leaderboard in both goals and points scored.

Signed alongside six other rookies at the Blazers' signing day in early 2026, the Stratton, Ontario product looks to be a great building block for the program's offence moving forward. "A standout performer throughout the month and season, Cleo led the team offensively with six goals in twelve appearances (nine starts), and earned MCAC Athlete of the Week honours on the way," notes Blazers head coach Jason Moist. "She also led the team in shots on goal and recorded the highest regular season shots on goal percentage among the league's top ten goal scorers, demonstrating her consistent attacking presence and ability to create scoring opportunities.

While the program's outdoor season has officially come to and end following their MCAC Playoff run in Otterburne, MB, the team is shifting gears to the indoor turf, where they will continue to train and compete as part of an indoor women's league here in the city. We continue to look forward to more growth in the program from student-athletes like Cleo, and await her sophomore season next September!
